Here's a brief look at the work of our artists, who all live and work in Arivaca.

Long-time Arivacan Jerry Patton carves creatures out of mesquite. Quail of several sizes and quail familes join coyotes, rabbits, and even cats in his desert menagerie.  Jerry also works with barbed wire, creating wall hangings in the shape of windmills, quail, peppers and cactus.

Regan Wendell is the newest member of the Arivaca Artist’s Cooperative.  Regan is sharing her sewing artistry, offering handmade knitting needle, crochet hook, and paint brush holders, jewelry cases, yoga mat carrying bags, gift bags (including wine bottle gift bags), and reversible totes. Her work is elegant, finely detailed, and a delight to use. Regan's website is Lilac Stitches; click to visit!

Karl Hoffman offers his fine art photography (framed and unframed prints) with a focus on the west.  He is also selling his award-winning DVD, Living on the Border, and a selection of his jewelry.

Peggy Kane makes tiles which celebrate our natural world as well as pure beauty. Some of her small tiles feature rabbits, lizards, birds, and flowers, and others celebrate fairies and spirits. Her animal spirit masks are specially treasured.

Christina Baklanoff is best known for her designer gourds. In addition to her larger pieces which are unique collectibles, she has a great display of hand-painted "coyote gourds", which make wonderful Christmas tree ornaments, or enhance any decorative scheme. She also makes purses out of gourds,  gourd wall hangings, and paints landscapes of our desert home.

Visit her gallery at www.artgourds.com.

Nancy Fricchione is a master furniture maker working exclusively in mesquite. Her tables, benches, coffee tables and stools are designed to enhance the natural beauty and flow of the wood.

Ellen Dursema creates handcrafted leather clothing, moccasins, and accessories. She also is an amazing tie-dye artist! You'll find baby clothes, shirts, socks, and even underwear to help you express yourself! Ellen also makes beaded jewelry with an emphasis on earrings and necklaces. She uses her leather and beads to make purses, key rings and pouches.

Meg Keoppen and Robert Richards create wonderful soaps, salves, and lip balm for their Desert Bounty Herbs collection.

Phil Bastien is another wood-working artist. He creates stunning lamps, candle holders, and bowls from our native mesquite. One of his unusual offerings is mesquite wine bottle stoppers! Each is unique, functional, and a delight to behold.

Mary Scott is a digital photographer who enjoys photographing just about everything in the desert! She offers more than 125 different art-quality 4x6 prints, and blank photo note cards to complete your mailing.

She is also the singer/songwriter of the local Arivaca band Kaivaly. Drop by and listen to their CD, Songs of Vasistha.

Sabrina and Obe Sweetwater offer music from the Arivaca Acoustic Studio, and photography of Arivaca summer skies and local landmarks.

In addition to the artists highlighted here, our unofficial town historian, Mary Noon Kasulaitis, offers histories of Arivaca.

We look forward to your visit!
